Accessibility Statement

Our approach to making the Cherry Tree Nursing Home website accessible

Last updated: 6 July 2026

1. Our commitment

Chiltern Care Services Limited wants the Cherry Tree Nursing Home website to be usable by as many people as possible, including older people and people with visual, hearing, motor, cognitive or other disabilities. We aim to follow the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA where reasonably practicable.

We want visitors to be able to navigate the website with a keyboard, zoom and reflow content, understand page structure, use forms with assistive technology and obtain important information in an alternative format when needed.

2. Current accessibility status

No full conformance claim yet The website has not yet completed a full independent WCAG 2.2 audit. We therefore do not currently claim that every page and function fully conforms to WCAG 2.2 AA.

3. Known limitations

Images and icons

Some meaningful images currently have missing or generic alternative text, and some icon-only links may not have a sufficiently clear accessible name. This can make their purpose unclear to screen-reader users.

Forms

Some contact and recruitment fields currently rely on placeholder text rather than persistent, programmatically associated labels. Error identification, instructions and confirmation behaviour require full keyboard and screen-reader testing.

Mobile reflow and tabular content

Some content may not reflow fully on smaller screens or at high zoom. In particular, the activities timetable may clip its final column on a narrow mobile viewport without providing an accessible way to view the hidden content.

Page language and accessible names

The website’s language setting and some accessible names require correction and consistency checks so assistive technologies announce content appropriately.

We are working with the website developer to address these issues. We will update this statement after further testing and whenever material accessibility issues change.

4. Feedback and alternative formats

If you cannot access information or use a feature on this website, or if you need information in another format, please contact us. Examples may include large print, an accessible electronic format or help completing an enquiry by telephone. We will consider your request and respond as soon as reasonably possible.

Please tell us which page or feature caused difficulty, what device or assistive technology you were using if relevant, and the format or adjustment you need. You do not need to disclose details that are not necessary for us to help.

5. Preparation and testing

This statement was prepared on 6 July 2026. It is based on a manual review of key public pages and browser-based structural checks of the home, contact, careers, life and community, and legal-page templates. This was not a complete independent accessibility audit and did not include comprehensive testing with every browser, device or assistive technology.

6. Ongoing work

Planned work includes meaningful alternative text; persistent form labels and accessible errors; corrected accessible names and language settings; keyboard, focus, contrast and zoom checks; improved mobile reflow; and further WCAG 2.2 AA testing before any conformance claim.
